Donald Trump says that the new Republican healthcare plan he is pushing through Congress would allow the federal government to negotiate for an insurance plan for all Americans, including those with pre-existing conditions.
Trump made the comments during an interview with the “Today” show.
“We’ve got all of our alliances united insurance,” Trump said.
“We can do that.
And it’s a good deal for everybody.
We’ve got an incredible health care system, with millions of people that can get good coverage.”
Trump’s remarks on the Affordable Care Act come as the Republican Party is in the midst of a crisis of its own making.
The House passed a bill on Tuesday that would repeal and replace parts of the Affordable Act, and President Trump is currently weighing whether to sign it into law.
The president has threatened to veto the bill.
Trump has said that he will make a decision on whether to support the bill by the end of the week.
