ESPN.com/SportsCenter: A big win for the Westfield Insurance Group.
Westfield has been a top 10 auto insurer for many years and it won the largest insurance payout of all time.
The payout was $1.4 billion.
Westfields insurance also won the biggest award in insurance history in a lawsuit filed by an insurance agent who claimed he was discriminated against in a claim because of his gender identity.
The award is the largest in insurance company history and a record for the largest payout in a discrimination lawsuit filed against a company.
A federal jury ruled in March that Westfield had discriminated against a female agent because of her gender.
Westfines insurance had argued that the suit was frivolous because Westfield hadn’t made an attempt to work with the female agent and had no intention of working with her.
We are pleased that the jury has ruled in favor of Westfield and have already reached a settlement to resolve the matter,” Westfield said in a statement.
In addition to the payout, Westfield also won $500 million in additional compensation for the damage caused by the fire, which it blamed on a mechanical problem.
The insurance company also agreed to provide financial relief to the affected agent and will donate $1 million to the American Red Cross, according to the news release.
The company will also spend $1 billion to purchase and renovate a new headquarters and offices in Chicago, according the news report.
Westfield was founded in 1939.
In 2017, the company was bought by rival, GE.
